Welcome to our first season in Canterbury! Upon arrival at Christchurch International Airport (CHC), head to the designated meeting point where our hosts will be ready to greet you. From there, we’ll shuttle you to the apartments so you can settle in, set up your gear, or take care of any rental needs before the adventure begins.
In the evening, join us for a Welcome Dinner & Briefing, where we’ll go over the week’s itinerary, introduce you to one another, and share insights about New Zealand’s ski areas and local attractions. This is the perfect time to meet your fellow riders!
Over the next 6 days of riding, we’ll explore the resorts in the area based on weather and conditions. Each day, groups will be split according to preferred riding speeds to ensure a fun and comfortable experience. An optional rest day is included mid-week for those who’d like to take a break.
Our hosts will monitor the weather daily and adjust plans if needed to ensure the best riding experience. Here’s a sample itinerary:

Before you know it, Saturday will have arrived, and it’s time to say goodbye. Enjoy your final morning in Methven, bid farewell to friends new and old, and get ready for your next adventure.

Each day, our team will introduce you to the mountain, recommend the best runs for your skill level, and show you our favourite hidden spots—so you can focus on riding without the hassle of figuring out where to go.

As always, we get solo travellers and riders of all skill levels on the trip, so we’ll split the group by skill level to ensure you’re riding with others who match your pace—whether you’re here to cruise, charge, or take on new challenges.
Mt Hutt is Canterbury’s premier ski resort, known for its epic terrain—with wide-open groomers, playful off-piste areas, and stunning views over the Canterbury Plains. Advanced riders can look forward to its natural halfpipes and steep chutes for an extra challenge!
Porters is a local favorite for its laid-back vibe and epic terrain. With fast laps, steep chutes, and rolling runs, it’s a dream for intermediate to advanced riders. Charge down wide-open groomers or explore off-piste lines—truly a hidden gem in Canterbury!
Club fields are best for intermediate to advanced riders who love big-mountain terrain without the crowds!
Broken River is a hidden gem in Canterbury’s club field scene, offering steep bowls, open faces, and playful terrain perfect for riders who love to explore. With a mix of wide-open groomers and technical off-piste zones, it’s a freerider’s dream. The nutcracker rope tow system adds to the adventure, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll have access to some of the best powder stashes in New Zealand.
Craigieburn is for riders who crave steep, technical terrain. With no groomed runs, this club field is all about big-mountain freeriding, featuring chutes, narrow ridge lines, and wide-open faces that demand confidence and skill. The famous Craigieburn “Highway” delivers some of the longest, most exhilarating descents in Canterbury.
Mount Cheeseman has two T-bars providing quick access to wide-open groomers, rolling off-piste zones, and natural features ideal for carving, cruising, and exploring. The north-facing slopes ensure plenty of sunny days for fast laps, playful terrain, and laid-back mountain vibes!
