8D7N Sat-Sat itineraries are the best way to experience skiing and snowboarding!
Our team will introduce each ski resort to you, advise suitable runs for your skill level, and show you our favourite secret spots every morning. You do not have to figure out the best runs and the best spots to send it, practice or cruise on! What’s more, we get solo travellers and people of all skill levels on the trip. We will be splitting the group up according to skill level to ensure that you will be able to find people at your skill level to shred and push your boundaries with our hosts giving tips and tricks, daily!
With 5 seasons in New Zealand under our belt, we’re proud to show you around the spots that started our love for the sport – by an all-Singaporean crew and some of the best riders from our little red dot!
Treble Cone, the largest ski area in NZ's South Island, is famous for its long, uncrowded groomed runs, legendary off-piste terrain and unrivalled views over Lake Wanaka and the Southern Alps
Cardrona boasts some of NZ’s best on-piste & off-piste terrain as well as a world class terrain park with progressions for all levels. Coupled with top notch resort facilities, Cardrona is always at the top of your to go list.
The Ohau Snow field has great terrain for all skill levels from beginners to intermediate skiers and snowboarders. Being less commercialised and less crowded, beginners will find wide open runs while the more advanced riders can hike to more challenging terrain for un-touched powder runs and amazing views
Check In: 4PM onwards
Arrive at Queenstown International Airport (ZQN), gather at the designated meeting point in the airport & our hosts will pick you up from Wanaka to get to the apartments. Check-in, meet the crew for the week and get cosy. For those who require rentals, today’s the day to get fitted before the Welcome Dinner.
We will be briefing the group on NZ’s ski areas and attractions over a Welcome Dinner in the apartments.
We will head to Cardrona, or Cardie’s as the locals know it. Arguably the most raved about ski resort in NZ, Cardrona’s a real all-round stunner with pristine groomed trails, top fo the line resort facilities and a world class snow park. Today we’ll get you guys warmed up! At the start of the morning, our team will split the group up according your skill levels before taking you around the trails of Cardrona that will be most suitable for your enjoyment. From gentle beginner runs at McDougall’s to long cruisy blues down Whitestar and challenging varied terrain at Arcadia, you’ll be spoilt for choice at Cardrona.
Day 2 is when we take it up a notch and venture deeper into our secret spots. Again, splitting the group by skill level and how adventurous you’d like to get, our team of hosts willl guide you through the less explored (and less crowded). For those game on exploring Cardrona’s snowparks, our hosts will introduce you to park riding together with proper park ettiquite & safety rules. You dont have to be a pro to ride the park and our team always looks forward to introducing this different skillset of snowboarding & skiing to you. Groups will be split up by skill to ensure you only attempt features within your comfort zone.
For the intermediate & advanced riders, you are in for a real treat! Treble Cone offers you the largest ski area in the South Island with a wide selection of piste, technical terrain & powder chutes. The resort is divided into 2 main areas, Home Basin, where you’l find a variety of piste runs, including a long 4km trail which would surely delight all you piste demons.
For those in search of off-piste terrain and steep powder runs, think no further and head directly to the Saddle Basin. Despite having just 1 lift, the Saddle offers you an endless selection of off-piste lines. For the seekers and adventurous, be sure to hike to the peak for the best lines (and best views – trust us you do not want to miss this) as well as the Motatapu Chutes. Not sure of the routes? – Not to worry, our team will show you the way.
After 3 epic days on the mountains, you might start to feel a little fatigued. Day 4 will be the perfect day to take a rest and explore Wanaka town, go on a scenic hike at Mt Iron, Diamond Lake or if you are up for the challenge, Roy’s Peak! If active rest is not your thing, you can also catch a movie at Wanaka’s famous 3 screen cinema with sofa seats and homemade treats (their cookies are the bomb).
If you would prefer not to waste a day on the slopes and continue riding, you will have a choice the head back up to Treble Cone. A half day session would be recommended so you would still have time to head back down in the afternoon the hangout with the group in town, before we prepare for our cook-in night feast – a tradition not to be missed at The Ride Side.
Today is a special day – we head up north for a day trip to Ōhau ski field. While not as comercialised as the big 4 resorts of NZ, Ōhau offers terrain for all levels and especially due to the lack of crowds, every line is a fresh line on a snow day. We will be taking a scenic drive to Ohau via Lindis Pass, once of the most beautiful drives in the South Island Fjords. We’ll be making a stop over at Lake Ohau for a picnic before heading back to Wanaka!
For your final day on snow, we’ll head back to Cardrona where we started the week. It’ll be your last chance to explore all the runs you did not manage to ride previously. You’ll see how much you’ve improved throughout the week, taking on terrain you previously we not able to on day 1. You’ll be surprised at the progress you’ve made with 1 week of consecutive riding.
Before you know it, Saturday would have come again and it’s time to say goodbye. Enjoy your final day in Wanaka, bid farewell to friends new & old and you’ll make your way to your next destination. We will be leaving together on the airport shuttle bus to Queenstown International Airport.
