Minimum Ride Level
Our most advanced experience, reserved for the strongest and most experienced riders. For most of the week you'll chase lift-accessed powder, trees and off-piste across Sapporo's home mountains and Rusutsu, hunting untracked lines all day without the hike. What sets this trip apart is one dedicated day of proper backcountry touring, stepping through the gates at Teine or Kokusai and leaving the resort behind entirely. That one day is something special. Out beyond the lifts and the crowds, you'll earn your turns and ride untouched powder few people ever get to see. Our guides don't just show you the lines — they teach you how to move safely in the mountains: how to use avalanche safety equipment (transceiver, probe and shovel), how to read terrain and snowpack, and how to navigate the backcountry. It's a rare chance to ride somewhere genuinely wild and come away a more complete, more capable rider. If you've already ridden everything the resort can throw at you and you're ready for the real thing, this is the experience for you. One thing to know before you book: the touring day means earning your turns the hard way — hiking and skinning uphill to reach untouched terrain. You'll need to be backcountry-fit and comfortable spending the day on a splitboard with skins, or touring skis/snowshoes, away from the lifts.
