Terms & Conditions

Customers are deemed to have read, understood and accepted the following terms and conditions. The Ride Side shall be known as “The Company” in the terms and conditions listed below.

In event of any conflict, the terms and conditions herein shall prevail.


As of 11 October 2022, Japan has updated their visa-exemption requirements. Please refer to this website to check if you are exempted: https://www.mofa.go.jp/j_info/visit/visa/short/novisa.html

If you require an entry visa into Japan, the following terms and conditions will apply:


  1. Your passport needs to have a 6 month validity period AFTER your departure date from Japan
  2. You will need at least 2 blank pages in your passport for the affixing of your Visa details by the Embassy
  3. Please ensure that you are present in Singapore during the Visa application and submission period
  4. Please ensure that your passport is ready for submission by the cut off dates stipulated in the Application Schedule
  5. If application is through The Ride Side, we are only able to apply for Singaporeans, PR and/ or employment pass holders (EP, SP, WP, Dependent Pass, Long Term Visit Pass)
  6. All other nationalities will have to apply directly to the Embassy on an individual basis
  7. An application is not a guarantee of approval. If your application is rejected, you will be required to do a re-submission based on the errors highlighted, at an additional application fee
  8. Visa is non transferrable

NO REFUND POLICY (VISA application fees):

Once a visa application process begins, NO refunds will be given even with the following situations:

  1. No refunds will be given if traveler’s trip is cancelled under any circumstances
  2. Error in ERFS documents submitted by the traveller
  3. Late submission resulting in missing the cut off dead in each window for your travel period
  4. Error in documents submitted by traveler for Single Entry Visa application
  5. Omission in documents requested for relevant submissions
  6. Traveler is not present in Singapore during application period for the specified travel period
  7. Any change in travel period, itinerary or traveler details
  8. No approval given by visa processing team at the Embassy

[IMPORTANT] – In the event any customer has to cancel his/her trip due to the reasons above, the following trip cancellation charges apply:

Charges Per Booking:

  • 30 Days or more prior to arrival date: Free cancellation, full refund
  • 15-29 Days prior to arrival date: 50% cancellation fee, 50% refund
  • 14 Days prior to arrival date: 100% cancellation fee, no refund

For all cancellations, a SGD 75 processing fee (per person) will be required.



Refunds will be provided to you on a pro-rated basis ONLY in the event of the following unforeseen cases:

  • Travel bans from Singapore into destination country ordered by government authorities
  • Travel bans from destination country into Singapore ordered by government authorities
  • If such an event occurs, a pro-rated reimbursement will be provided for services already paid for, that you have been unable to obtain or use. This is subject to the condition that the booking was made prior to the officially imposed travel restrictions.

Refunds will NOT be provided to you in the event of the following cases, including but not limited to:

  • In the event you get Covid-19, prior, during or after the trip.
  • Government advisories to limit travel
  • Failure to secure preferred flights
  • Personal disinclination to travel
  • Extension of quarantine regulations
  • Other personal matters
  • Inability to provide a vaccination cert at immigration resulting in entry denial
  • Being denied entry into your travel destination
  • Rejected entry visa due to undisclosed reasons

If any of the above events occur, general trip cancellation terms will apply.

To ensure you are fully covered in any unforeseen events, we recommend purchasing a comprehensive Covid-19 travel insurance to cover you for the duration of the trip.


The safety and well-being of all our guests and employees is a top priority for the company. We continue to strive to offer the highest standards of service, and safety throughout this challenging period. For this reason, all participants who wish to join our trips are required to:

  • be fully vaccinated with proof of vaccination

It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure he/she can satisfy all the above requirements. In the event a participant fails to comply with any of the above requirements, the company has the right to refuse participation in our programme, together with all services included in the trip programme. If such an event occurs, refunds will not be provided by the company.

In addition, the Company will also have the right to refuse participation of any customer who flouts travel rules or is found to be untruthful about their travel history. Such cases include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing inaccurate personal information
  • Travelling from high risk countries prior to our trip



For all bookings, full payment is required to secure your reservation.

If the event a payment fails to be processed, the company reserves the right to cancel the reservation.


All payments can be made through our website via credit card or PACE instalment payment.


Cancellation of bookings by customers must be in writing and the following charges apply:

Charges Per Booking:

  • 30 Days or more prior to arrival date: Free cancellation, full refund
  • 15-29 Days prior to arrival date: 50% cancellation fee, 50% refund
  • 14 Days prior to arrival date: 100% cancellation fee, no refund

Even after full payment has been made, all arrangements are still subject to final confirmation if for some unforeseeable circumstance the arrangement cannot be finalised and the reservation has to be cancelled, the Company will endeavour to notify the customers at least one week before the customer’s arrival date.

The Company reserves the right to cancel any bookings prior to the customer’s arrival date for any reason including but not limited to an insufficient number of participants. The Company may, if it so decides, recommend alternative accommodation.

Should you decide not to accept the alternative arrangement, all monies paid by you will be refunded in full without further obligation or liability on the part of the Company, and that you shall be deemed to have agreed to release the Company from all liabilities or damages in connection with the cancellation.

Refunds will be processed within 2 to 4 weeks.


Amendments to bookings are permitted up till 30 days before arrival date and are subjected to availability. These include amendments to guest names (name transfers), sleeping arrangements and reservation dates only. 

Cancellation of any reservation dates will follow the terms of booking cancellation and respective charges will apply.

If any amendments are made within 30 days of the customer’s arrival date, an amendment charge of SGD $75 per person will apply. 

Changes & amendments are NOT permitted within 14days of your trip date.


No refunds, either in part or full, will be made for unused add-on services booked through the company. These include, but not limited to, airport transfer tickets, ski & snowboard gear rental, ski & snowboard lessons, ski passes & travel insurance.


All customers have to be above the age of 18 years (as of their reservation date) to participate in trips organized by the Company.


It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that they have a valid passport with a minimum 6 months validity from the date of the last departure point as well as the necessary visas, current health certificates and necessary travel documents as required by the various government authorities of the country(ies) to be visited.

The Company cannot be held responsible or be liable for any expense, reimbursement or refund of tour or travel arrangement charges if any customer is refused entry by any country before departure or during the period of travel for whatsoever reason, including but not limited to non-possession of necessary visas.


Travel insurance coverage for the full duration of the trip is compulsory for all customers to join The Ride Side’s trips.

All customers are strongly recommended to maintain full insurance coverage for skiing/snowboarding during the period of the travel.

Under no circumstances is the Company liable for injuries, sickness, accident, damage, death, loss, delay, detention, theft, quarantine, custom regulation, strike, acts of god, changes in itinerary, deportation, refusal of entry by Immigration or any unforeseen circumstances. The Company will be pleased to assist in the enquiries of any travel insurance.


Accommodation sleeping arrangements will be assigned on a first come first served basis and discussed with the customer prior to booking confirmation. Assigned room arrangement will be deemed agreeable upon the customer’s booking submission.

In the event the accommodation booked or requested is not available, every effort will be made for an alternative arrangement. Any non-compliance may result in an automatic cancellation of reservation and forfeiture of your payment.


Any special requests such as special meals, dietary requirements, private rooms etc., please inform the Company upon booking. Such requests are subject to confirmation and availability.


The operation of ski lifts and availability of some facilities used in the ski resort cannot be guaranteed as these are dependent on factors outside the control of the Company. These may include but are not limited to unpredictable weather, public holidays, festivals or mechanical failure or routine maintenance. In such cases, no refunds can be given.


All bookings have a strict 8D7N duration. Only additional 8D7N extensions will be permitted.


Assignment of trip co-ordinator for all groups regardless of group size, tickets, availability of accommodation is at the sole discretion of the Company.


The Company welcomes constructive feedbacks from its customer in its continuing efforts to improve its service quality. Any disputes with regards to the trip shall be submitted in writing within fourteen (14) days from the date of return. No responsibility is accepted in respect to any dispute that is made thereafter.

The Company will investigate and act to resolve areas of concerns. The interim response is within 3 working days (or 72 hours). Depending on the complexity of the case, the time taken to resolve a complaint is within 60 days. If it is unable to resolve the complaint amicably, it will refer to CASE with mutual consent of the Customer.


The Company will not divulge our customer’s personal information to any unauthorized third party without any written consent.


All arrangements for the provision of transport, accommodation, ski equipment and ski operations are made by the Company through our appointed agents. The Company accepts no responsibilities for injuries, damage, accident, death, loss, delay, theft, quarantine, custom regulation, strike, acts of god, and changes in itinerary, deportation or refusal of entry by Immigration

Authorities resulting from improper travel documents, possession of unlawful items or irregularities that may be cause to person or property. Any losses & expenses are the responsibility of the passenger. All proper travel documents are the sole responsibility of the passenger.

The Company reserves the right to modify program details regarding dates, prices and /or schedules in any way, without notice. The Company also reserves the right to decline to accept, cancel or withdraw any client if it is deemed that his or her behaviour or conduct is detrimental to or incompatible with the health, safety, interests, harmony and welfare of the other tour participants and the tour group as a whole. Under such circumstances, the Company shall be under no liability thereafter to any such person.

No employees or agents of the Company are authorized to commit the Company to any liability whatsoever and the Company will not be bound by any statements or representation unless it is in writing and signed by a management executive of the Company.

The Company also reserves the right to take photographs and films of passengers while on tour with the Company to be used for advertising. The Customer will be informed of use of such materials in publications and other forms of advertising.

The Company shall not be liable to the passengers for any goods purchased by the passengers during the holiday duration whether or not the goods are of defective quality, not suitable for the passenger’s purpose, not in conformity with samples provided to the passengers or rejected by the passenger for any other reason whatsoever notwithstanding that the goods are purchased in shops the visitation of which comprise part of the tour package (including itinerary) or which are specifically recommended by the travel services, their guides, servants, employees or independent contractors, nor the Company or the travel services be liable to the passengers for the purchase monies of the aforesaid goods.

Itineraries, prices, services and conditions are correct as the time of reservation. The Company reserves the right to revise the booking fees and to determine the date of commencement of such revised booking fees.

The Company reserves the right to change, amend, insert or delete any of the terms and conditions, or policies contained in this document, as the case may be, without prior notice.
