When booking a trip with us, you’ll come across a field that asks for your skill level. Don’t worry if you’re not sure where you fall—we’ve put together this quick checklist to help you determine your current riding level. Once you’ve got a clearer idea of where you stand, you’ll be able to choose the trips that suit you best, ensuring you have the best experience on the slopes!
BEGINNER Level 0-2 | INTERMEDIATE Level 3-4 | ADVANCED Level 5-6
BEGINNER
SUITABLE TRIP TYPES:
BEGINNER SNOWBOARD OR SKI CAMPS
Level 0 First Timer
- Can’t wait to explore the mountains on a snowboard or skis!
- It’s your first time skiing or snowboarding
- Snowboard: Learning how to control heel and toe edges
Skis: Learning how to use your inside edges (pizza)
Recommended trip type: The best way to start is with a 5-day intro programme that will take you from 0 to getting your turns on a green run.
Level 1 Beginner
- You’ve had a couple of days on the slopes and are working on linking your turns
Comfortable coming down a green slope on the edges of your board/skis - Working on C turns on green runs
Recommended trip type: Beginner camps are perfect for gaining confidence, along with other new snowboarders and skiers.
INTERMEDIATE RIDING ABILITIES
SUITABLE TRIP TYPES:
- HOSTED TRIP
- INTERMEDIATE CAMPS
Level 2 Novice
- You’ve had a few seasons in or have completed a Beginner Camp with us
Comfortable riding a chairlift - Able to S-turn on all Green runs
- Learning how to link turns on red/ blue runs
Recommended trip type: You are ready for Intermediate camp! This is where you’ll learn to get comfortable on Blue and Red runs.
Note: although you can join some of the hosted experience trips, we recommend joining our intermediate camps to level up your riding to a higher level.
Level 3 Intermediate
- Comfortable linking turns on blue runs
- Able to adjust turn shapes and sizes to suit the terrain
- Learning how to ride cat tracks and flat terrain
Recommended trip type: At this level, you’ll love our flagship hosted experience where our expert hosts will bring you through our favourite lines.
Also consider our Intermediate camp, where you’ll fine tune your technique for steeper Red runs , and the occasional Black.
Level 4 Strong Intermediate
- Comfortable turning on all Red and Black in-resort (on piste) runs
- Starting to explore powder, off-piste terrain and easy tree runs
Recommended trip type: You’ll have a lot of fun at our hosted experience, exploring off-piste, trees and powder runs with our hosts.

ADVANCED RIDING ABILITIES
SUITABLE TRIP TYPES:
- HOSTED TRIP
- EXPEDITION TRIPS
Level 5 Advanced
- Comfortable varying turns and speed on all in-resort terrain
- Can navigate through tree runs
- Loves side hits & powder stashes
- Speed and pow are your best friends.
- Don’t mind working a little for untouched pow
Recommended trip type: If this sounds like you, hop on one of the expedition weeks where we’ll be searching for some of the best lines of your life alongside other adventurous riders.
Level 6 Expert
The mountain is your playground and there are little to no terrain types that fazes you
With years of experience under your belt, you cruise through the mountains in style and are confident in all aspects of your riding. Steep off-piste runs are your terrain of choice and you have expert technique required to take on moguls, gullies, vertical drops and narrow trees. Navigating unpredictable terrain comes second nature and you find flow even in varying snow & weather conditions.
