Day 1: Arrival in Sapporo (Check in: 4pm)

Arrive at Sapporo?s New Chitose Airport (CTS) on Day 1 of the camp, hop on the airport shuttle and make your way to The Ride Side?s winter apartments in Tomamu. Check in at 4PM. If you arrive earlier, you may leave your luggage at the reception and explore the town in the afternoon. Check-in, meet the crew and get cosy in your new winter home. In the evening, we?ll make our way to dinner as a group and get to know one another over some of the best food Tomamu has to offer. Right after dinner, our programme begins with the arrival of your equipment. Our team will get you fitted, give an introductory tutorial session on how to use and handle your new snowboard gear, tips on making adjustments, basic techniques of snowboarding as well as important mountain safety rules to note. This first theory session will help you prepare yourself for the next day on the slopes and ensure everyone makes the most of your time on snow during the lessons.

DAY 2: Your snowboarding journey begins!

Today, your instructors will take you to the slopes to begin your lessons. The group will be split up according to your level of experience (first timers vs beginners) and your instructors will have a lesson plan tailored according to your groups overall ability, fitness and general progression. After the full day of lessons, you will be familiar with strapping into your snowboard, skating around with your board, taking the chair lift as well as sliding and slowing down on both your heel side and toe side variations. These skills will give you the confidence to make your way down beginner slopes slowly and carefully, as wells as avoid any obstacles along the way. The day on the slopes will end at 4pm today and you?ll head back to the apartments to freshen up and explore the town after. Be sure to check out the onsens and ice village in the evening before heading to dinner.

Day 3: Congratulations, today you learn how to turn!

Day 3 of the camp is when we take it up a notch! The morning will be used to practice and improve on your basic heel-side and toe-side progression. Once your instructors see that you are ready, they will introduce to you the techniques of turning on a snowboard. You will use the next half of the day to practice and master both your C & S turns and eventually linking them up and making your turns as smooth as possible. By the end of the day, you will have learnt all the necessary beginner techniques there are to snowboarding and its all about practice from here on.

Day 4: Final day in Tomamu (Check out: 1pm)

Before you know it, Day 4 would have come and it would be your final day on the slopes. The first 2 days are always the most challenging and from here on out, you?ll see improvements and progression a lot quicker. This is when you will really start to enjoy snowboarding and understand why so many are addicted to it. Today you will practice what you have learnt so far to reinforce the techniques and gain confidence snowboarding. The camp will officially end at 12pm but if you have a later flight scheduled, you will have the choice to continue snowboarding till the end of the day. Enjoy your final day in Japan?s never-ending snow as you bid farewell to friends new & old and you make your way to your next destination. Late check out at 1PM.
