Newly certified instructors, or those with a season or two, who want a winter in Japan on structured beginner and first-timer camps. Lessons are taught in English and attendees are mainly from Asia. All instructors, including Lead Instructors, complete the same foundational TRS training block as hosts. The teaching qualification is yours; the service standard is ours.

• Operational: rentals and equipment, attendance, and coordination with the host team
• Social: first-timers are nervous. How you handle that is most of the job at this level.

• All of the above for recce week (prior to guests arriving): Every new team member does a 3–5 day Reccee for pre-trip training and team-building block — the TRS service standard, scenario handling (guest fatigue, cash-flow uncertainty, group splits), riding-group management, and how we actually work together. This is mandatory when selecting your dates, so please factor it in.

The instructor track moves on **certification**, not time served. Reaching Level 2 makes you eligible for the Level 2+ band and the progression and advanced groups — subject to the same assessment of teaching and group management as everyone else.

• Application form: pick the track that fits you (new applicant, or experienced host/instructor). Riding footage optional, recommended.
• Expectations call (30 min): what the role actually is, what the pay actually is, what you’re actually after. Either side can say “this isn’t it”, no hard feelings.
• Group interview: a real activity with other candidates and our team. We’re watching how you operate around people, because that’s most of the job. Peer feedback counts.
  Selection: the hiring team reviews you against the role and the season’s team balance, with the peer assessment from stage 3 factored in.
• Final selection: role, level, location and terms confirmed
• Everyone who applies hears back from us once all rounds are closed: accepted, deferred, or not this season. Where we can be useful, we’ll tell you what would change the answer next time.

Placement is decided by us on your level, the location’s difficulty, and team balance. Places are limited by trip capacity and we build teams around level and group balance. State a preference in the application form and we will take that into consideration.
